What sort of business practice does Marc Adamus’ activities resemble: A Pyramid Scheme!

Marc Adamus runs a Pyramid Scheme!

THUGS, MORONS, and Marc-loving LOSERS love to think that Marc Adamus is an extremely successful “photographer” who is published constantly in the world’s top publications. That is a lie, of course. Most of Marc Adamus’ money comes from selling fraudulent “photography workshops” and “photo tours”. Marc’s business practices resemble the famous pyramid scheme:

From Wikipedia:

A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves promising participants payment, services or ideals, primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme or training them to take part, rather than supplying any real investment or sale of products or services to the public. Pyramid schemes are a form of fraud.

1. Marc’s business depends on a constant influx of new idiots who buy photo tours/workshops. He makes almost no money from real photographic operations like selling images & prints. The idea is that Marc can train you to be a real professional photographer with one of his fake photo tours. This idea is preposterous. The only thing a fake photo tour can do is inspire morons to offer their own photo tours. The first hint of pyramid scheme-like operation.

2. Idiots who have taken Marc Adamus workshops are constantly promoting these workshops. This is almost certainly as a consequence of receiving payment or promotion from Marc Adamus. The second hint of pyramid scheme-like operation.

3. Marc does not supply any real products or services to the public. Except for the very occasional print sale or image licensing, Marc doesn’t accomplish anything that benefits the general public. The third hint of a pyramid scheme-like operation.

4. Pyramid schemes are a form of fraud. What Marc Adamus does is fraud. Offering fake workshops that can’t possibly turn anyone into a pro photographer is a form of fraud. The fourth hint of a pyramid scheme-like operation.

5. Marc Adamus’ business is simply unsustainable. Because he encourages copyright violation by allowing MORONS and LOSERS to freely copy Marc’s own compositions, Marc marginalizes himself in the stock & print world. His work already has a very small market due to its preposterous appearance. Throw in a whole bunch of LOSERS who have copied his images and offered them at even lower prices than Marc, and you’ve got a problem. The fifth hint of a pyramid scheme-like operation.

There are many similarities between Marc Adamus’ business and the typical pyramid scheme. This is not a mistake. The Marc Adamus type of business is the closest to a pyramid scheme that anyone involved in photography could approach. Anyone interested in emulating Marc Adamus is setting himself/herself up for complete & utter failure.

  2. Dude, you are a funny gay... I mean... guy!

Just a question. Marc Adamus is making good money, but still you say his business is unsustainable. You, on the contrary, are not making good money (I don´t know you, but there is no doubt you hardly sell a print; otherwise you would not care a shit what Marc is doing; you would instead be spending your money with a Playboy bunny). So how can your business be classified?

  3. We've gone over this. His business is unsustainable because his images are not unique any more and there are dozens of losers copying exactly what he does. We do this as a public service and a service to the photography industry. The world isn't driven by envy, but maybe yours is.

  4. No, my world is not driven by envy, and that is why I do not spend time criticizing others. Instead, I use my time in getting better at what I do.

Just a honest advise. If Marc Adamus business is unsustainable, as you claim, it will rapidly collapse by itself, so don't lose time criticizing him, it is not necessary. And if it does not collapse, because you are not right, or because he sells a lot of workshops, or for whatever other reason, don't again lose time criticizing him. Use that time in getting better yourself and better than him, in whatever aspect or form. This critiques, whether based on truth or not, will not achieve anything. So make you and the rest of the world a favor and stop them. Just an advise.

  5. It is unsustainable, but until it collapses, Marc is going to be doing a lot of damage to legitimate photographers.
