A response desired from Marc Adamus, regarding copyright violation.

A response desired from Marc Adamus.

The $30,000,000 question: Why does Marc Adamus allow the blatant, overwhelming copyright violations that happen with his images? Why does he allow the blatant theft of his work and his “vision”, if we were to call it that? Apart from the boastfulness and general unpleasantness of Marc’s character, it must be said that his images were quite unique when they first appeared. But that’s not enough. An artist’s work can’t rely on what status it enjoyed when it first came out. There are envious, fame-lusting thieves out there. Art needs to be protected from theft. Theft like the type displayed in this picture:

As we have said yesterday, how can Marc Adamus images be “immediately recognizable” when this is happening? Does Marc Adamus have anything to say about this sort of thing? We’re waiting for a reasonable explanation!

Can Marc provide a reason for why he allows these imbeciles to simply run up and completely Xerox his compositions? It’s actually quite simple to prevent thugs from stealing images, which is why it’s perplexing that Marc Adamus hasn’t already done so. Until he explains himself and takes measures to protect his work from theft, Marc Adamus essentially condones widespread, massive copyright violation, and what amount to acts of financial terrorism against professional photographers.

  1. Oh wow, right the fuck off the deep-end once again. I can't even fathom how anyone could think this way. There are NO copyright laws in existence that protect ANY natural subjects, period. Everyone knows this except you, apparently, and can you imagine trying to hunt down every single person (thousands, at least) that are stealing your compositions if you're Marc Adamus? If anyone ever made an effort to do that they'd become the most hated person in the photography world, next to you. I would take it as a compliment in the highest regard if someone wanted to find the places I've shot, and if I didn't, I'd do what Marc does and often travel days backpacking into areas that aren't usually photographed. What exactly is it you guys are smoking?
