What has Marc Adamus EVER done for Wilderness? Not a single damn thing!!!

What has Marc Adamus ever done for wilderness?

You will often hear about Marc Adamus and wilderness. Wilderness, wilderness, wilderness. Marc like repeating that word. In fact, his website says, at the very top, “unforgettable wilderness photography”. And in his bio, he spews “we NEED wilderness.” I assume all this emphasis on “wilderness” is supposed to tell us Small People that worrying about our jobs or family is for the petty and ignorant. Real Men, who are 5’6” like Marc Adamus, are always worrying about Wilderness. Except, is this true?

What has Marc Adamus ever done for Wilderness?
Nothing! Not a single thing!

Commercial Fine Art is merely Marc Adamus' latest attempt to be famous.

Here are some of the things, however, that Marc has done to damage wilderness or nature:

1. Encouraged uncaring, vain LOSERS to trample sensitive ground in the Columbia River Gorge NSA while taking “workshops” or “photo tours” and desperately hoping to copy Marc Adamus images. One only need view the preferred shooting location at Elowah Falls to see the great deal of damage hordes of SCUM have caused in their desire to copy Marc.

2. Trampled sovereign Indian land because of his desire (in his own words) to camp in pristine, unprepared areas. (See Marc’s manifesto, One Way to Photograph North America, for this).

3. Encouraged the same vain LOSERS to trample other wild or natural areas in their vain attempts to copy Marc Adamus and become “famous” on the Internet.

4. Neglected to teach same THUGS & MORONS anything about photographic or wilderness ethics, mostly because he has none himself. Wilderness and nature deserves respect and care. The cattle-like hordes that follow Marc around don’t give a shit about sensitive wildflowers or meadows. All they care about is copying Marc’s images, and then, hopefully becoming Famous.

Marc Adamus is a fame whore. His own statements, like this one, just prove it over, and over again.

What does a person who actually believes in Wilderness do? Say, Art Wolfe:

1.     Writes about industry’s impact on nature & wilderness in newspapers, online, and in books. Lobbies for protection for wild areas currently not closed to development or exploitation.

2.     Speaks at Wilderness Congresses and to legislators.

3.     Donates time & money to wilderness-preserving causes.

4.     Writes books about sensitive areas around the world.

Has Marc done a single one of these things? NO! Instead, he has trumpeted his own greatness and celebrated himself (NOT wilderness) on various online venues, spreading LIES and FRAUD to make himself appear to be a Really Big Photographer. To satisfy his own lust, he and his THUGS selflishly trample on meadows that were only preserved by the hard work of others. Marc Adamus has never done anything, anything for wilderness! And he never will. He’s a vain prick who’s obsessed with his own greatness. Probably spends all day long masturbating to his own visage in the mirror.

What is the point I’m trying to drive home with this post? Never believe anything Marc Adamus says. He’s a selfish, self-serving psychopath who wants to be famous. Nothing less and nothing more. Anyone who’s a “fan” is merely being used to achieve Marc’s aims. No one will gain anything from copying Marc’s images or taking five or his workshops. Ten years from now, they’ll look back on their foolishness and want to cry for wasting so much money on vain idiocy.

Furthermore, wilderness lovers don’t run around with tripods and heavy cameras, desperate for colorful sunsets to “share” with other idiots on Flickr or photo.net. They most often carry point & shoots to document their adventures, leaving the professional shooting to pros like Art, who isn’t going to backstab other photographers with $50 prints or 50 cent Istockphoto image licensing.

Rest in Peace, Steve Jobs. A couple words from Marc Adamus LIES 2.0

Rest in Peace, Steve Jobs

Rest in Peace, Steve Jobs.

I was shocked, and saddened, to hear of the death of Steve Jobs on the 5th. Like many others, Steve was an idol and a man I greatly admired. His legacy of innovation and excellence will influence us for years to come.

One of the things I admired about Steve was that he wasn’t a sellout. He had a vision, and worked ceaselessly to achieve it. We all remember the stories about Steve having circuit boards re-designed so that they would look better, even though almost no one would ever see the inside of the computer. He was the only one who cared how the inside looked, and as a consequence, we have the industrial design icons of the Mac Pro desktops and G5 machines, which are sculpted metal, both inside and out.

Why I do talk about this? Compare Steve Jobs to say, Marc Adamus. It’s like the Bill Gates joke about Bill & God: the difference between the two is that God doesn’t think he’s Bill Gates (no offense to Bill!). It’s the same way with Marc. Marc thinks he’s some sort of visionary and a very brilliant person. Steve actually was that person. Marc spouts off lies about how famous he is, only to switch gears and talk about his humble demeanor to a different audience. Steve Jobs introduced technology and design that spawned thousands of jobs and created entirely new types of markets. Marc spawned a following of vain losers who destroy the market they claim to be a part of.

Think of a Marc-Adamus type Steve Jobs. He wouldn’t really create anything. He’d teach others (workshops) how to “create” MP3 players and computers, and those students would go on to steal the other designs out there, undercutting the originals in hopes of creating a market for stolen technology. Marc would be the motivational speaker, spewing bullshit at a mile a minute while snowing his adoring fans.

I say all this because there’s a difference between the real thing, and a fake, a fraud who wants to bullshit his way to the top. Marc Adamus is the fake. Steve Jobs was the real thing. Rest in peace, Steve; you will be missed.

The Marc Adamus LIES about his latest BC Coast Mountains trip & a critique of his image "Ten Thousand Years"

The latest Marc Adamus LIES

Marc Adamus has nearly topped himself (a very difficult task, to be sure) with his latest bullshit. A trip to the BC mountains (presumably) has produced some of Marc’s greatest bull shit yet. Here’s the image, and a complete quote off photo.net:

Marc Adamus: Ten Thousand Years, and maybe Ten Thousand LIES?

“I was dropped off by float plane on a remote lake in the central Pacific Range of British Columbia, one of the most remote mountain ranges on the Continent. As soon as the hum of the plane was out of sight, I spent two and a half weeks completely alone (well, there were Grizzlies, goats, marmots and a host of wildlife around at all times) without any reminder of humanity. I backpacked every different direction from my drop-off point every day I was out. I marveled at the sweeping Glaciers, 5000-ft sheer mountain walls, waterfalls, wildlife and some of the best mountain flowers I've ever seen. Above all else though, this place amazed me the most. Donning crampons and ice tools, I entered the interior of an enormous glacier where it was cracking apart and had a rushing river flowing through it. The ice - clear and blue as any I have ever seen, was hulled out in places creating rooms up to 40ft high and 100ft across! I could hardly believe my eyes inside this frigid fantasy world that had likely never been seen by anyone in its entire existence. I spent half of two days inside here getting drenched and cold, and managing to avoid the occasional falling car-sized ice chunk :-) I took many pictures and some provide you with a bit more sense of scale than this, but this particular abstract caught my eye. For me it looks like an alien world and the viewer is almost unsure where it leads or what's going on. That's exactly how I felt here, although no photo would ever do justice to the place.”

Where am I even supposed to start? Here’s my standard Marc Adamus claim analysis format:
Marc Adamus Claim
My analysis
“I was dropped off by float plane on a remote lake in the central Pacific Range of British Columbia, one of the most remote mountain ranges on the Continent.
How many times can you use the word “remote” in a single sentence?
As soon as the hum of the plane was out of sight, I spent two and a half weeks completely alone
No doubt, being completely “alone” was key to Marc’s trip. That way, no one can contradict Marc’s version of events.
without any reminder of humanity
Sad, pathetic pandering to the LOSERS who crowd at popular national park viewpoints in hopes of elusive fame.
I backpacked every different direction from my drop-off point every day I was out
Yes sir, 360 different directions. Maybe more if you figure half-degrees.
I marveled at the sweeping Glaciers, 5000-ft sheer mountain walls, waterfalls, wildlife and some of the best mountain flowers I've ever seen
Interesting that we have no photos of any of this, and more importantly, any mention of where exactly Marc was, so we could perhaps, I don’t know, verify his story. Yes, so shocking, I know!
. Donning crampons and ice tools, I entered the interior of an enormous glacier where it was cracking apart and had a rushing river flowing through it
Glacial “ice caves” don’t have ice on the bottom, too. After all, Marc himself said there was a river at the bottom.
The ice - clear and blue as any I have ever seen, was hulled out in places creating rooms up to 40ft high and 100ft across!
Similar figures have been quoted by Marc Adamus, in the past. According to Marc Adamus, practically any natural feature related to caves is 50 feet high and over 100 ft across (and over 500 feet long, of course)
I could hardly believe my eyes inside this frigid fantasy world that had likely never been seen by anyone in its entire existence
Well, how are we to verify this one, huh? Remember that Marc conveniently never mentioned exactly which place he went to! Surely, that’s just a huge oversight.
I spent half of two days inside here getting drenched and cold, and managing to avoid the occasional falling car-sized ice chunk :-)
Managing to avoid the occasional falling car-sized ice chunk? Really? What won’t Marc’s LOSER fans believe?
I took many pictures and some provide you with a bit more sense of scale than this, but this particular abstract caught my eye
We’re never going to see any of those images that provide a bit more sense of “scale”, of course.
For me it looks like an alien world and the viewer is almost unsure where it leads or what's going on
I’m unsure what is going on, in terms of processing and lying, with Marc’s images, most of the time.
That's exactly how I felt here, although no photo would ever do justice to the place
Marc has recently started including this line in every narrative he spews, trying to paint himself as a little more humble than the public has been led to believe.

CONCLUSION:

As usual, the LIES and rhetoric only increase and worsen as Marc feverishly works overtime to establish himself as the best of the best, with the help of his willing, LOSER fans. This latest trip will not sell any images for Marc, but that’s not the point. It once again “establishes” Marc’s “bona fides” as a Real Adventurer, helping to sell workshops to LOSERS like Kevin Mcneal, Chris Moore MD, Ryan Dyar, and the hundreds of drooling fanatics on photo.net.
