Part one of our analysis of the Marc Adamus Manifesto, “One way to Photograph North America”

Part one of our analysis of the Marc Adamus Manifesto, “One way to Photograph North America”.

At Marc Adamus LIES 2.0, we have to say that Marc Adamus has really outdone himself with his latest expose. We’re certain that a better example of empty boasts, flowery rhetoric, and outright bullshit won’t be found for some time (maybe ever). Since Marc Adamus just can’t help himself, the manifesto also contains a great number of lies, unsubstantiated boasts, and some useful information that casts a new light on who Marc really is. Our analysis of this trash will likely take several months to complete, but you’ve got to start somewhere:

1. With not another person for many miles, I had just finished digging my truck out of a 3-foot deep powder snow drift that I should have seen coming on a remote jeep trail in the Nevada high desert. In unusually frigid weather, I began fixing Thanksgiving dinner with my camp stove on the back door-stop of my vehicle after spending 74 consecutive nights outside when it occurred to me: perhaps people might enjoy hearing a little more about why this type of situation I have found myself in here is the norm in my life, and why, in fact, it's just the type of thing I enjoy most of all.

Interesting that Marc always seems to get himself stuck in some 3 foot snowdrift at just the right moment for him to jump out, dig himself out with his shovel, and then “cook a gourmet meal”.
Regarding the “it occurred to me: perhaps people might enjoy hearing a little more”: this statement is a lie. Marc has been pining to write a long line of bullshit about his “adventures” for years. It didn’t just “occur” to him out of the blue.

“….after spending 74 consecutive nights outside”: Who cares, if it is even true.

“….why this type of situation I have found myself in here is the norm in my life”:  So Marc is trying to say that he’s a bad driver that regularly gets stuck in snowdrifts? Wow, I guess if there’s no real substance in your life, just boast about your shortcomings!

“…..In unusually frigid weather”: How does Marc know it was “unusually” frigid weather, and why does anyone care?

“….on a remote jeep trail in the Nevada high desert”: Lie. Are we supposed to believe that Marc drove dozens of miles off the main highway just to camp?

2. It was mid-September and I was leaving my base residence near Corvallis, Oregon once again for what I estimated would be 2 to 3 months of travel around the continent from north to south. Although I have inflexible obligations along the way, such as conducting photographic tours, I refuse to be held to an exact date in which I might return from such a trip.

“….once again for what I estimated would be 2 to 3 months of travel around the continent from north to south”: Wow, makes it sound like going to the North Pole for the first time!

“…..Although I have inflexible obligations along the way, such as conducting photographic tours”: The only true statement so far. The only money Marc will make from this trip is all the workshops he “taught” while out there.

“…..I refuse to be held to an exact date in which I might return from such a trip”: Meaningless claptrap. Who cares what exact date Marc returns?

3. By nature, I am bound to a perpetual state of wanderlust that has eventually shaped every part of my life. Although I have a very supportive partner of many years at home and a two-year old son I love dearly, the call of all things wild, remote, and rugged plus the desire to catch a piece of their magnificence with my camera, beckons me away as powerfully as anything. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to both turn my love of photography and the outdoors into a full-time profession and to provide financial support for my family at home, something for which I am deeply grateful.

“…By nature, I am bound to a perpetual state of wanderlust that has eventually shaped every part of my life”: meaningless statement that is impossible to corroborate or prove in any way. Stated merely to falsely paint Marc Adamus as an explorer who’s always seeking his next adventure.

“….Although I have a very supportive partner of many years at home”: Yes, partner is right. He’s not even married to “Annie”. What a joke!

“…and a two-year old son I love dearly”: Marc does not love his son. He only loves himself.

“…the call of all things wild, remote, and rugged”: Lie. Marc has almost never been in what most people would classify “real” wilderness. Marc plays a shell game in which every area designated “wilderness” by state or federal legislators is automatically extremely remote and untouched, and of course, never photographed “professionally” before he showed up.

“…plus the desire to catch a piece of their magnificence with my camera”: Lie. Marc has said before that he wished he didn’t even “have” to carry a camera. Which one is it? No one forces Marc to do anything.

“…beckons me away as powerfully as anything”: Lie. What beckons Marc is the siren call of fame, recognition, and celebrity status (none of which he will ever achieve, by the way).

“…Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to both turn my love of photography and the outdoors into a full-time profession”: Lie. Marc Adamus is simply not a photographer. Photographers take and sell images. Marc only takes images to sell his bogus workshops. If Marc stopped selling workshops tomorrow, he’d be flipping burgers at McDonald’s to pay the bills.

Does Marc Adamus have a small penis & the Napoleon complex? A RX for Marc Adamus!

Marc Adamus: Napoleon Complex LOSER who has a small penis?

New information leads us to believe that Marc Adamus suffers from the so-called Napoleon Complex. Basically, it says that short men tend to overcompensate for their height. Marc, of course, is the undisputed King of bullshit and overcompensation. The latest "article" Marc has posted on the so-called Naturephotographers.net online magazine only confirms this. Full of speculative nonsense, outright lies, and all sorts of dubious statements, Marc obviously spent a long time on this lame manifesto. However, no amount of bullshit can fix a 5'6" frame and a short penis (hey, comes with the territory), and Marc proves this again and again. In fact, most of the LOSERS who buy "workshops" from Marc happen to be both taller and heavier than he is. What an embarrassment! We're going to be writing for a long, long time about his latest nonsense, but in the meantime, here's a prescription for Marc's shortcomings. We hope he fills this 'scrip immediately. No man should have to live with Marc's "shortcomings", if you know what we mean:

WorkshopsAreSCAMS.com coming soon!

Workshops Are SCAMS coming soon!

We are pleased to announce that WorkshopsAreSCAMS.com is coming soon. Photography "workshops" are the current way most photography frauds (such as Marc Adamus or most of the frauds at PhotoCascadia) make money from the photo industry. Not talented enough to make an honest living selling images & prints, these frauds & losers fulfill the old adage: Those who can't do, teach. That is why almost all photography workshops are complete and total SCAMS. Our new website & corresponding blog will go into great detail. Arriving late next week!

Why are Internet LOSERS & FRAUDS attracted to Marc Adamus?

Why are losers & frauds attracted to Marc Adamus?

It’s a question we’ve pondered many times. We’re sure that legitimate photographers have wondered this too. Why are the Floris Van Breugels, the Kevin Mcneals, the Ryan Dyars, the Mark Metternichs, and the Adrian Kleins of this world attracted to a fraud like Marc Adamus?
He represents a dream that many of these losers find potent and irresistible. Marc Adamus spins a colorful tale of wilderness adventures, braving the elements for “the shot”, and respecting and protecting wilderness. It’s all a lie, of course, but one that is a siren song to the losers who crowd around Marc and attempt to gain his favor.

Marc Adamus represents a self-defeating way of doing business, but losers do not recognize this. They are intent on making themselves carbon copies of Marc Adamus and enjoying the “fame” they think he commands.

A couple points about Marc Adamus, before we continue:

1.  Marc Adamus isn’t even a photographer. Photographers take and sell images. Marc produces extraordinarily photoshopped creations that he can’t sell. These creations can’t even legitimately be called images. Of all the time he spends on this fantasy, actually taking images occupies the least of his time. In addition, the vast majority of his income comes from selling fake photo workshops. Those who can’t do, teach.

2. Marc Adamus isn’t recognized as a great (or even good) photographer by any legitimate media channel of any sort. He has never even had so much as an article in a major newspaper or magazine (loser magazines such as Outdoor Photographer and Popular Photography don’t count….these magazines cater to boneheads, not to the general population).

3. Marc Adamus does not have prints in any legitimate gallery anywhere in the world.

4. Unlike any real photographer, Marc spends thousands of hours on Internet forums, promoting himself and his fake workshops. No real photographers spend any time on forums except to talk about business topics. However, on the Internet, you’ll find plenty of frauds offering to “teach” you about photography in one of their fake workshops.

Now that we’ve gone over that, one might wonder what exactly are the losers trying to copy/emulate? Marc is no success at all. In fact, if he stopped selling workshops, he wouldn’t even be able to pay his rent, much less anything else.  It therefore comes as no surprise that the first order of business for a fraud like Mark Metternich or Adrian Klein is to start offering workshops, too. They know they aren’t going to pass muster selling prints or images to the public, but there are losers out there who are naïve enough to believe that these frauds are some sort of legend (only in their own minds).

To recap:

1. Marc Adamus has created a fake persona to give idiots the impression that he’s a highly successful photographer.

2. Marc Adamus is not a success at anything. He’s a school dropout and a liar whose living depends on defrauding the public. Anyone who believes him or emulates his methods is likewise a contemptible fraud.

3. Naïve morons like Adrian Klein, Kevin Mcneal, Mark Metternich, and Ryan Dyar believe Marc Adamus and do their best to copy everything he does.

3. These losers train legions of other losers with their fake “workshops”, the only way any of them can make any money even remotely connected to photography.

4. The legions rush out lustily, dishonestly calling themselves professional photographers, while gleefully indulging in copyright violation, lies, and misrepresentation.

5. An entire industry, with thousands of families and jobs at stake, is threatened by the lust and greed of incompetent, shameless liars.

All this so Marc Adamus can have his dream of being the “most widely recognized and influential photographer of his time”? No thanks, Marc!

Who qualifies for airtime on Marc Adamus LIES 2.0 and Loserphotographers.com? Part 1: Wide Range Galleries/Jack Brauer website

What are the standards for inclusion on MAL or Loserphotographers.com?

(Note: Due to the multiple elements covered in this post, it is also available on the Loserphotographers.com blog)

A recent email we received made some excellent points. In fact, we’ll be quoting extensively from this email in the future.
However, the author  also displayed a valid concern, such as the following:

Though you're attacking of random people with tripods in the "loserphotographers" section is a bit unsettling as how I might end up on it, heh, is there some sort of criteria you have for throwing people on there other than whats stated?

It’s a good question, and one that deserves a good answer.  What constitutes a THUG, MORON, TERRORIST, or LOSER? Here are some characteristics that will cause us to take a second look. This is part one of a multi-part series on this subject:

1.  A Jack Brauer (Wide Range Galleries) website

This will surprise many readers. What the heck does a Wide Range Galleries website have anything to do with Marc Adamus and his moron supporters? As it turns out, plenty.
Jack Braurer websites are extravagantly expensive. In fact, they range from $2000-6000, with more expensive options available. The most common fee is, apparently, $3000. The reality is that this money doesn’t get you very much. The websites are template-based, which is why almost all of them look vaguely similar, and the customization is usually in the form of some custom graphics and slightly different gallery arrangements.

It’s important to point out that these expensive Wide Range Galleries websites are essentially overpriced, underperforming templates that offer no secret formula to internet visibility. So it’s really stupid to pay so much for them.

So, if we ignore the privy information in the above sentence for a second, you’d think that a very successful photographer is the typical client. And you’d be very, very wrong. In fact, Jack hardly has any real photographers as clients. The typical “client” is a loser who makes almost no money of any sort from photography. Many of them have their own money, or have spent their well-to-do parents’ money on the websites (Ryan Dyar, Floris Van Breugel). Most of them were completely unheard of two years ago. They feel that buying one of these overpriced, template websites is some sort of magic solution to their web presence. Why do they think this?

Simple. Marc Adamus was one of the first people to purchase a Jack Braurer website.

For most morons, this is enough by itself to immediately rush out and blow $5000 on a website. Now that we’ve laid it out for you, isn’t it astonishingly insane? If this poser is stupid enough to buy some website just because Marc has one, what else is he stupid enough to do? Bear in mind that we don’t think Marc paid this much for his website. We think that Jack suddenly realized he had a jackpot on his hands, and promptly raised his prices after delivering Marc’s site. And where does it stop? How high do the prices have to be? We guarantee that the Floris Van Breugels and Ryan Dyars of this world would be buying a Wide Range Galleries site at $10,000 a pop. Maybe they’d still do it at $20,000 a pop. After all, Marc has one of these sites, and since Marc is The Best Photographer, The Most Successful Photographer, and the Most Humble Person ever, obviously anyone who wants to be a Real Pro© needs a Jack Brauer website.

On a more serious note, a Jack Braurer website is one of the sure signs that you’re dealing with a talentless loser, a worthless fuck who thinks that throwing a bunch of money at his latest obsession will make him a noteworthy artist. We strongly urge you to not purchase anything from anyone with one of these websites. In almost every case, you’re dealing with an immature, inartistic poser who hides behind his computer and his expensive website and makes no money from photography except for that “earned” by “teaching” fraudulent photography “workshops” to other loser wannabe’s.

To recap:
1. If you find a Jack Brauer website, you’re probably dealing with a fraud, a poser, and a loser. He purchased that website because Marc Adamus did. No other reason. There is about as much creative thought at work here as could be found in a roadside boulder (maybe less). Hit your back button and find a real artist who doesn’t need a super-expensive website to look like the real thing.

2. Jack Brauer websites are easily identifiable by the “design by Wide Range Galleries” note at the bottom of each one. Avoid anyone whose website sports anything identifying Jack Braurer, Jesse Speers, or Wide Range Galleries as associated with the design or content of the site.

3. Jack Brauer himself is rapidly dipping into the world of fraud by advertising himself as a large format photographer, while he increasingly uses the tools of scum morons, the Canon 5D Mark II, for landscape photography. This camera has no business being within a hundred miles of any website or gallery promising medium or large format quality prints. Do not purchase prints or services of any sort from Jack Brauer. Do not reward his fraud and business relationship with Marc Adamus.

Look for Part Two of this series soon, where we take a look at the 2nd hint we’re dealing with a loser: The various obsessions and claims of LOSERS & LIARS, and what to look for when reading a photography website.
